Current funding pathway
Verified October 16, 2026: Oklahoma lists the Rural Regional Reorientation (RRR) application period as closed. Year 1 offered grants of up to $4 million. Participation in Year 1 is not required for Years 2–5. No open solicitation specifically purchasing CrossCheck-style consultation was confirmed.
Oklahoma defines Budget Period 2 as October 31, 2026 through October 30, 2027. The state says detailed Year 2 funding information depends on its next CMS Notice of Award. Renewal and later-year funding are not guaranteed.
An RFI gathers information; a NOFO seeks grant proposals; an RFP seeks contractor proposals. Regional support does not establish project eligibility or an award.
Oklahoma’s general RHTP guidance now lists baseline applicant requirements including an active Unique Entity ID, required insurance, ability to sign the state subrecipient agreement, and an active Oklahoma vendor ID if awarded. A future RRR notice may add or change requirements. These readiness items do not establish that a hospital, partner, or CrossCheck is eligible.
Bring the use case into regional planning
Bring together hospital leadership, local clinicians, nursing, EMS, and existing referral partners. Describe where additional emergency physician input could help and how the service would fit existing care pathways. Identify the lead organization and the procurement route before naming a vendor in a final proposal.
Oklahoma has scheduled RRR in-person County Collaborative meetings from October 26 through November 13, 2026, covering regional groups of counties. These meetings are an opportunity to participate in regional planning; they are not an application window or a funding decision. Use the official schedule for dates, locations, registration, and changes.
The closed RRR notice requires applicants and partners to be located in and already serving Oklahoma as clinical or social service providers. Applicants need not be headquartered in a rural community; the funded care must benefit rural residents locally. Its population threshold is 55,000 or fewer. The closed notice also required each lead applicant and partner to maintain an active Unique Entity ID and SAM.gov registration, avoid federal suspension or debarment, and carry an active certificate of insurance. Verify the applicable community list and any future notice before assuming eligibility.
Plan the Pulsara workflow
CrossCheck’s planned Oklahoma workflow uses Pulsara. Before launch, define activation, participating teams, information access, documentation, and fallback procedures with each hospital. Planned use does not establish a Pulsara partnership or operational coverage.
Oklahoma’s September 29, 2026 update identifies Pulsara TOTAL CARE as its statewide EMS centralization platform, available at no cost to Oklahoma hospitals and Fire/EMS providers. Enrollment and phased implementation are still required. The state purchase does not establish funding for CrossCheck physician consultation.
Make the implementation measurable
Start with coverage gaps, local capabilities, and baseline disposition and transfer information. Set milestone owners for credentialing, communications, training, launch, and joint case review. Measure access, safety, appropriate local care, and the timeliness of necessary transfers.
A discussion with CrossCheck can produce a scope and budget for planning; service availability and obligations require a separate hospital agreement.
Your next steps
- Review the Oklahoma funding page, Budget Period 2 FAQs, and County Collaborative schedule.
- Identify the lead, partner, or vendor route and check its applicant-readiness requirements.
- Map existing communication tools, referral relationships, and local capabilities.
- Prepare scope, budget assumptions, milestones, and evaluation measures.
CrossCheck is developing pilot partnerships with rural Oklahoma hospitals. These guides describe the proposed model, not a guarantee of current coverage. Availability, response expectations, credentialing, and responsibilities must be confirmed before service begins.
