Local clinical judgment.
Emergency expertise.
CrossCheck’s proposed model gives rural ED teams access to board-certified emergency physicians for real-time discussion of diagnosis, workup, treatment, disposition, and the appropriate level of care. It is designed for 24/7 support; coverage is established through a hospital agreement.
The local clinician remains in control. The aim is safe care in the community when appropriate and timely transfer when the patient needs capabilities elsewhere.
Explore the consultation model →Funding follows the state’s plan.
RHTP funding goes to states, which establish their implementation and participation pathways. An Oklahoma hospital or network needs the relevant Oklahoma opportunity, eligible lead organization, and approved scope.
Emergency consultation may fit goals for sustainable access, coordinated emergency services, and technology-enabled care. That alignment is a proposal rationale, not a funding determination.

Verified October 16, 2026: Oklahoma’s RRR application period remains closed, while the state has scheduled regional County Collaborative meetings from October 26 through November 13. Budget Period 2 runs October 31, 2026 through October 30, 2027, but funding details still depend on the state’s next CMS award notice. Oklahoma’s updated funding page also lists general applicant-readiness requirements; the specific notice and state decision still control eligibility. See the Oklahoma guide for the official schedule and planning sources. CrossCheck’s current geographic focus is rural Oklahoma; service availability must be confirmed for each hospital.

From funding idea to clinical service.
Can a hospital apply directly to CMS?
The federal RHTP award is made to states. Oklahoma hospitals and other organizations participate through Oklahoma’s eligible routes. Use the current Oklahoma program instructions.
Does CrossCheck replace the local ED team?
No. The proposed model adds emergency medicine consultation while the local clinician continues to direct care. Scope, credentials, documentation, and responsibilities are agreed before launch.
How would teams connect?
Pulsara supports secure audio or video consultations and sharing patient information, including EKGs and images. The planned Oklahoma workflow uses Pulsara; CrossCheck has not established a Pulsara partnership. Hospital onboarding would establish the communication workflow, access, documentation, and fallback procedures.
Is consultation automatically eligible for RHTP funding?
No. The state must determine whether the specific project, costs, applicant, and procurement route meet its approved program and the applicable requirements.
What should we bring to a first conversation?
Your Oklahoma organization, participating facilities, coverage gaps, current consultation pathways, the funding opportunity you are considering, and your timeline.
